Did you know.

Customers can save five to 30% on their energy bill by making energy efficiency upgrades identified during their assessment.*


You must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • You can provide verification that your household income is above 250% and below 400% of the Federal Poverty Levels.  Use the drop-down menu below to select the number of people in your household and to view minimum/maximum qualifying income levels.

  • Your primary residence must be located within a low- or moderate-income census tract, and you must be willing to self-certify you meet the income qualifications. Visit FFIEC.gov to verify the census tract where you live. 

OR

  • You must provide proof of participation in the New Jersey SHARES (NJ SHARES) federal/safety net partnership program.

OR

  • Your primary residence must be located within a Low Income, Low Income and Limited English, Low Income and Minority, or Low Income, Minority, and Limited English Overburdened Community (OBC) designation and you must be willing to self-certify you meet the income qualifications. Visit dep.nj.gov to verify if you live in an OBC.

  • You must be a current residential PSE&G customer with a valid account number.
  • You must live in a single-family or multi-family building with one to eight units that are individually metered.
    • These may include dwellings such as single-family homes and townhouses.
    • Multi-family residences, such as typical apartment buildings, are not eligible.
  • Homes in foreclosure and homes built within the past five years or under builder’s warranty are not eligible.
  • Homes that are for sale or will be placed on the market are not eligible.
  • If you are a renter but would still like to participate in Home Weatherization, you must have your property owner’s permission.

In-person home walk-through

A certified energy adviser will meet you at your home and perform your energy assessment.

Expert recommendations

Your adviser will show you specific energy efficiency measures your home needs to ensure you save the most money possible.

Installation of energy-saving products

You'll receive a variety of energy-efficient products installed at no cost. These may include:

  • ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostat
  • LED light bulbs
  • Faucet aerators
  • Efficient-flow showerheads
  • ShowerStart® showerhead adapters
  • Advanced power strips
  • Water heater pipe insulation

Scheduling of home upgrades

You also may qualify for energy efficiency improvements and health and safety upgrades depending on your home’s needs, all at no cost.

The improvements you choose to make will be scheduled to take place during one or more future visits, and could take two to six months to complete.
